What I mean by "Usually changes are based on community feedback and research" is that changes aren't made without regard for users then brought the community for feedback. It's more like, "Users are having issues with foo, so let's make this change to solve those issues".

To put it another way, did you ask me if I mind you emailing me your responses in addition to posting to the list? No, you didn't. Should I then make a claim that you have no regard for me, or should I ask you first why you're emailing your responses directly to my email address?
