I assume you don't have backups.
You are using the newest Seamonkey under Windows (whatever Windows NT
5.1; rv:14.0 is).
I have not been in this situation for a very long time but this is what
I did a few years ago

(clearing Cache first might be an idea)
Exit seamonkey completely.
Take a backup of your %appdata%\mozilla directory
Then go into %appdata%\mozilla\seamonkey\PROFILE-NAME\Mail and delete
the .msf files there. You probably have subdirectories so do it there
as well. Sub-subdirectories?
Restart seamonkey.
Clicking on the various mail directories in Seamonkey should get them up
and running again.

If that worked - rejoice. Then start trying to work out how it happened.
If it did *not*, no idea.
If things are worse, you *did* backup %appdata%\mozilla/seamonkey?

best of luck.

I have my mail-settings to keep the mails on the servers for a month or
so, or if I delete them. That makes reverting to backups pretty painless.

Thanks. How do I take a backup?

All of my subdirectories are still there - it's just the main inbox contents that went away. I did a search and could not find the missing inbox or the corresponding .msf file.

I also have my settings to keep emails on the server till I delete - that's why I find this so mysterious.
