I assume you don't have backups.
You are using the newest Seamonkey under Windows (whatever Windows NT
5.1; rv:14.0 is).
I have not been in this situation for a very long time but this is what
I did a few years ago

(clearing Cache first might be an idea)
Exit seamonkey completely.
Take a backup of your %appdata%\mozilla directory
Then go into %appdata%\mozilla\seamonkey\PROFILE-NAME\Mail and delete
the .msf files there. You probably have subdirectories so do it there
as well. Sub-subdirectories?
Restart seamonkey.
Clicking on the various mail directories in Seamonkey should get them up
and running again.

If that worked - rejoice. Then start trying to work out how it happened.
If it did *not*, no idea.
If things are worse, you *did* backup %appdata%\mozilla/seamonkey?

best of luck.

I have my mail-settings to keep the mails on the servers for a month or
so, or if I delete them. That makes reverting to backups pretty
painless.

Thanks. How do I take a backup?

All of my subdirectories are still there - it's just the main inbox
contents that went away. I did a search and could not find the missing
inbox or the corresponding .msf file.

I also have my settings to keep emails on the server till I delete -
that's why I find this so mysterious.

I haven't ranted about this in years. So, here goes.

You use a computer and do not do regular backups??? Forget backing up your Mozilla profile, concentrate on developing a strategy for backing up your entire system and evey PC on it.

There are a zillion programs out there, free and paid, to do automated backups of your system.

For God's sake, launch Google and study!

FYI

Get educated. When (not "if") your system fails you'll have a backup.

And, if you haven't done this you'll get little or now sympathy here.

You have your brakes on your car checked regularly? Your furnace checked? Your lawn treated? Your dog? C'mon!!!
