Re-installing doesn't help. There is something corrupted in the Profile

If you're working in Windows, then MozBackup will help with allowing you to choose what parts of a profile to copy.

The route that I would go would be to get a full backup of your current profile. Then go to Tools -> Switch Profile to create a new profile, and then use MozBackup to recover parts of your backed up profile.

Which parts of the profile you want to restore are going to be something of a trial-and-error proposition, because you don't know where you have corruption in the profile.

That said, you probably do want to restore Emails, Address Books, Bookmarks and Saved Passwords. General Settings (which I believe includes all your preferences, as well as your server settings for your mail configs) would definitely be helpful, so that you don't have to manually reconfigure, but to me, that's also the most likely source of corruption. I would not recover extensions -- note which ones you have, and reinstall those from new downloads.

In any case, you're likely to have to do some playing with your new profile, with what you restore or not. Thus, don't tamper with your existing profile, until you have a new profile that behaves satisfactorily.

As noted previously, reinstalling Seamonkey (whether a simple reinstall, or full removal and reinstall) won't do anything at all, because an uninstall of the code won't touch the profile, and when you're having behavioral issues, my experience is that it's nearly always something in the profile.
