I just decided to update from Seamonkey 1.1.19 but, after reading that there have been problems trying to upgrade directly to 2.12, I decided to follow the advise posted here to upgrade to 2.0.14 first. It did indeed find and migrate my hundreds of bookmarks, 10 email accounts with thousands of messages and, surprisingly, all of my IDs and passwords.

After the update to 2.0.14 completed I clicked on Help > Check For Updates. To my surprise Seamonkey automatically updated to 2.6.1 instead of 2.12.

After the 2.6.1 update completed I again clicked on Help > Check for Updates and this time Seamonkey was automatically updated to 2.12.

Again, my hundreds of bookmarks, 10 email accounts with thousands of messages and, all of my IDs and passwords are still intact

One of the reasons I held off updating to 2.x was the complexities of the directories I had data spread over. It seems that the 'staged' updates resolved the data location mapping without a problem. I am curious as to what the outcome would have been had I tried to update directly from SM 1.1.19 to SM 2.12.
