Until a couple months ago, there was also Andy Halford's CheckPlaces.
But the author decided to stop developing for Mozilla and removed his
extensions from the Web. Too bad, CheckPlaces was really nice, it did a
number of things beyond checking links. I still have a copy installed,
and I'm keeping it as long as it works.
I just had a look, and it *seems* to be under the standard Mozilla
tri-license (MPL 1.1/GPL 2.0/LGPL 2.1), so I believe it might be
possible for someone else to fork it and keep it alive.
I just tried Checkplaces. I'm still getting a huge number of false
errors - like 312 DNS errors out of 2200 bookmarks. When I check these
with SM, they all open normally. Any suggestions?
