I often have this problem. It is caused by the fact that my preferences are set to "Only load images that come from the originating server". I have the PrefBar extension installed, and I can control this preference from PrefBar's tool bar. I change it to "Load all images". Sometimes, I can see a link to fetch a new CAPTCHA; otherwise, I merely reload the Web page. The only problem is remembering to restore my prior preference for "Only load images that come from the originating server". -- David E.
