What's going on with SM 2.13.2 not handling .pdf links now? Anytime I
click a .pdf referring link I get either a "cannot display" notice
or no
download of the referenced .pdf. I also get a null page for a .aspx
referenced link.

Tried my own previous workaround (reverting to Reader 9.5.2) and now
that's not even working; it had before I updated to 2.13.2, I seem to
recall.

What's the fix, or is a fix coming?

Windows XP SP3
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/20121026 SeaMonkey/2.13.2
Adobe Reader 11.0
Adobe Acrobat plugin nppdf32.dll 11.0.0.379

Links delivering PDF files with the MIME type application/pdf appear in
my SeaMonkey browser window. However, some Web servers fail to specify
the correct MIME type. PDF files with the wrong MIME type cause Adobe
Reader to launch and display the files in a separate Adobe window.

It's behaving differently for SM's Mac version - a .pdf will *never*
display in a Browser window for me, and it seems I cannot get a .pdf to
directly download - I have to "Save Link Target As" and open it manually
from my Desktop; and even then sometimes that works, sometimes it
doesn't - Reader claims "unknown format". A .pdf never self-launches
into Reader.

I've updated to Reader XI and its plugins, and the problem has only
gotten worse.

Check your prefs:

Edit | Preferences | Browser | Helper Applications

Scroll through the list, and for each pdf mime type, set the option to
"Always Ask." Note that there are several types, so you can't just set
one pref and get the desired results. OK out.

Then go back a second time and set the options to your preferred outcome
-- "Save File," or "Use Acrobat Reader (default)," or whatever.

In theory, you should be able to do this in a single pass, but sometimes
when you update the helper app SM gets confused about where to find it.
This two-pass approach is very reliable.

Yes - it took me a couple passes, but I think I at least partially sorted it...check my other post.
