So you download newsgroup messages for offline viewing, and have no way
of deleting those messages from the hard drive?

If you mean newsgroup messages *not* downloaded for offline viewing,
then that is the default behavior.

You can change it by toggling "news.allow_delete_with_no_undo" in
about:config.

Not sure that is what you are talking about.
