With Seamonkey, when using newsgroups if I put an ascii smiley ihe receiver gets a picture smiley, where does seamonkey hide this smiley and can I (and how to make and replace) it with a bigger one? or animated one?
To the best of my knowledge the smileys in SM are proprietary to SeaMonkey/Mozilla/Netscape, and are hidden inside the applications.
When you insert a SM smiley only people using a modern version of SM can translate the ASCII symbols to a graphical smiley.
A few years ago there was a smiley application that would integrate with the Netscape Communicator e-mail suite and insert a hyperlink to the smiley image hosted on a third party server. This only worked successfully in HTML mail.
You can create your own smiley graphics and insert them into any HTML message, but most newsgroups frown on HTML.
