I have Vista with SeaMonkey 2.20.
When I open the browser, my home page loads promptly. But when I go to
any other page (a second page) it loads about 75 to 90 percent of the
page, then dawdles for quite a while (easily more that one minute),
then
completes loading. Thereafter, subsequent pages load normally.
So something is balking the second page I go to. Where should I look
for a solution?
What happens if you clear your cashe, close SM, and then re-open?
I have my preferences set to purge the cache every time SeaMonkey is
terminated. Despite an empty cache, the problem exists that I described
in my earlier reply.
That settles that, then. I was wondering if your Home page loaded
quicker because it was still retained in cache.
What happens if you go to about:config and set network.prefetch-next to
false?
My understanding of that setting (probably incorrect) is that it allows
you to prefetch linked pages into cache so when you click on a link, it
is already there.
So if one of your pages has links to 1000 others, time to practice
meditation.
Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
