This appears to be not true. I tested more and on Linux it happens as well. As far as I can see, since version 2.15 there is a fixed delay of 3 seconds during the first access of every IMAP account in the config. When the account has been configured to "check for new messages at startup" (as is the default), the delay occurs during startup of the program. This is especially visible when it is started in mail mode. (seamonkey -mail, or start the E-Mail program when seamonkey is configured to be the default mail program on Windows) In Windows, the whole message list area and most of the icon bar is greyed out during this interval. In Linux this does not happen, but the "barberpole" is shown in the statusbar (indicating the program is busy doing something of unspecified duration). This happens for me even when I start with a completely new config and everything set to defauls (in my earlier tests I had tested with a new config but there was a general.config.filename set which loaded some locally locked settings). I think it should happen for everyone, but maybe not everyone notices it because the delay is "only" 3 seconds when a single IMAP account is configured, and the majority of users use POP3 anyway. I have downloaded source tarballs for 2.14.1 and 2.15 (as I have observed that the problem first occurred in 2.15) and did a full context diff between them, but I still have not been able to locate a possible cause for the problem. _______________________________________________ support-seamonkey mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
