I cannot help but feel that a far more apposite question is
"by which future SM version can we expect that full regression

and therefore be performed before a new version is released ?".
The short answer: Never.
Thank you for your frankness and honesty, Phil; I might not
approve of the response, but I most certainly approve of the
honesty and speed with which you responded. Sadly I feel,
however, that your answer will deter almost all commercial
enterprises from considering Seamonkey as a possible candidate
for adoption, and it will therefore continue to remain a niche
product that appeals to few rather than evolving into the
enterprise-class product that it could and should be.

...actually, as someone that is involved in the evaluation of software
professionally I can say that this *is* a growing and troubling problem
industry wide - I see it in my own workplace - cutting corners and
sacrificing quality of output for the sake of schedule. A number of
years ago "regression" became a dirty word in my workplace...and I've
been fighting against that for over a decade, but now that I'm near to
retirement all that's left is to just shake my head over it.
My observation is that because of this we will continue to see more and
more degradation of the quality of software products over time - over
all. People just plain don't seem to *care* anymore - it's all about
"getting it out", and far less about getting it *right*. And about
change for the sake of change, rather than change that actually makes
practical and visible sense for a user.
Users are going to need to become more savvy and attentive as to which
software actually suits and serves their needs at the highest quality
level and forget about brand loyalties if they want quality.
