Two places to look in case you inadvertently changed your settings:
1a) Edit | Spellcheck as you type
(in the composition window for a particular message) and
1b) Edit | Preferences | Appearance | Spelling: Check spelling as you
type
(for mail messages generally)
2) Edit | Preferences | Appearance | Spelling
Make sure the language setting matches the language you use.
This is a New bug for SeaMonkey In fact I put in a bug about it several
weeks ago I thought it was specific to Mac turned out it also showed up
in at least Linux.
Someone from this list several weeks posted a work around that works.
I've forgotten already the work around
As I recall, checking spelling as you typed didn't work, but checking as
you sent the message *did* work!
Provided you had it turned on.
Spellcheckingg is/was turned on
No underliningg happening here.
