One could fairly guess that copy and paste didn't work, suddenly did
in one or more builds, and then the functionality went
AWOL to the OP's dismay.


Copy TEXT to clipboard and paste into email should work for both plain
text and for HTML.


the OP speak about copy from desktop .... so it's a file not the content
of a file.

I would have thought to get something from the Desktop to anywhere else would have required it thing to go via the "clipboard".

And a file is the content of the file!! If there is no content, there is no file!!
