(a) "This" may be a newsgroup for you; it is a mailing list for me and
for the gentleman who asks to be unsubscribed;
(b) Newsgroups can be neither added to, nor removed from, e-mail clients;
(c) There is indeed "subscribe-unsubscribe", as document in the headers
that accompany every message sent via the list-server :
List-Subscribe: <https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey>,
<mailto:[email protected]?subject=subscribe>
List-Unsubscribe: <https://lists.mozilla.org/options/support-seamonkey>,
<mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe>

Huh? Of course, newsgroups can be added or deleted from email clients!
I added this one after I got a Windows 8 Pro computer and installed
Thunderbird. I added other Mozilla newsgroups that I have in my Outlook
Express email client on my older XP Pro machine. I used to read a lot
of news groups on Outlook Express for many, many years and add some and
delete some. I also add and delete newsgroups from Opera (not the new
Opera but 12.16 and earlier). I have this newsgroup currently
available on Opera, Thunderbird and Outlook Express.
I far prefer newsgroups to listservs as listservs don't display properly
in email clients. I've never understood why Mozilla did not make the
Firefox ESR listserv a newsgroup instead.
