In the program folder for Seamonkey that is in the Windows Start menu,
there's already a shortcut there for launching the mail client.
A valid option, though it wasn't how the OP phrased the question.
With Windows 7 (and presumably 8), use the Start search tool to look
for "Seamonkey". Grab the entry for Seamonkey Mail, and drag to an
appropriate location as a shortcut.
Yep, that works, too.
In Windows 7, I keep a copy of that icon in the Windows taskbar, and
since it's the third entry away from the Start button, the keystroke
combination of the logo key and the number 3 launches the mail client.
The one minor annoyance is that when Seamonkey updates, the shortcut
gets deleted from the taskbar, and I have to drag a new copy in.
Hasn't yet happened to me on an upgrade -- you /are/ talking about the
Quick Launch toolbar next to the Start button?
I've seen this when I uninstalled/reinstalled, but that's not the same
as an upgrade in place.
