Probably not, but I hope I'm wrong. The patch addresses a security issue, but I see nothing in Adobe's description about stability issues.
For myself, I can say that I had no stability issues (hangs or crashes) before the patch, and expect to have none afterward. YMMV.
If this patch doesn't help, you might try completely uninstalling both Flash products (Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director, if you have both) and then reinstalling it/them from scratch. It's helped me sometimes in the past when Flash got cranky.
