In my (Plain Text) Compose window, the top bar has the "Window Menu" and
"On all Desktop" buttons, "Compose: (no subject)" title and the
"Minimise", "Maximise" and "Close" buttons.
Then I have a row of icons (note: icons not text, if that makes any
difference) to "Send Mail", "Recipients", "Attachments", "Spellcheck",
"Security Settings" and "Save" buttons.
No "File | Edit | View | Insert | Format | Options | Tools | Window |
Help" bar or even one with the appropriate buttons on it!! At
Edit->Preferences->Composer->Toolbars, I can select which buttons I want
on either the "Composition Toolbar" or "Formatting Toolbar", but, still,
no mention of "File | Edit | View | Insert | Format | Options | Tools |
Window | Help"
OK, below the row of icons, do you have an area that reads,
From:
Newsgroup: (or "To:" as the case may be)
Subject:
or not? Or is the next thing you see the message composition area proper
(the place where you type the message itself)?
If you do have the "From:/Newsgroup:/Subject:" area, then just below it,
at the far left, do you see a little speckled rectangle, gray or pale
blue depending on your theme, above the message composition area proper?
Mouse over it and it should produce a tooltip, "Menu bar." Click it.
If you don't have the "From:/Newsgroup:/Subject:" area, then you should
see a long speckled rectangle (tooltip: "Address bar") followed by a
little short one (tooltip: "Menu bar"). Click the little one.
