by chance, are you using 'open with' extension at all? the reason i
ask, i was having the same issue as you're describing, however when i
disabled that extension i was able to recover from it.
if not, check if SM updated any other extensions with your latest
reboot, and that may lead you to your problem.

It is not my antivirus or firewall (Norton) causing this. I disabled it

it starts with the chosen group, but if I click to "Save the previous
session" when closing SM, it will again restart with blank (Untitled) tabs.
I tried restarting my computer but it made no difference. I also tried
reinstalling SM, but it also made no difference.
