Don't be confusing plugins with extensions. Shockwave, Silverlight, Java and
Flash are examples of plugins, seen in about:plugins, if you have any
installed. Things you see in your addons manager (about:addons) are
extensions. Extensions are here to stay as long as browser makers want to
keep their users reasonably content.
