How did you try akalla's 2.47? Try extracting to a ~/seamonkey folder and then ~/seamonkey/seamokey or from the folder: ./seamonkey You can copy your gecko-mediaplayer files over to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins For building your own, I suggest you ask on the dev list instead of this list.
