No criticism intended; from what I can see (as a native speaker and a translator/editor with over 30 years' experience) your English is very natural. We all make mistakes, but it's probably better than my Russian, which is more passive than active.

I don't like webmails, either, so I use POP mail for my Gmail account (you have to change one of Google's settings to allow it, but it's doable).

My last comment was about use of plain text and HTML which could play
a part in emerging of the issue. I said it persisted even if
composing was set to HTML. I believe there's no solution.

You may be right. But keep monitoring this thread in case someone else has an answer.
