Lately I've noticed that SM 2.49.1 doesn't handle listserv replies as
expected.
When the message to which I'm replying has the following parameters:
From: <Poster's Name>
To: <List Address>
Sender: <List Address>
Reply-To: <List Address>
simply clicking "Reply" or using the equivalent keyboard shortcut CTRL-R
composes a reply to the individual poster and not to the list. I have to
consciously decide to reply to the list by pulling down that choice from
the "Reply" button or from Message | Reply to List.
This is different from the previous behavior, where a simple reply went
to the list and I had to consciously choose if I wanted to take it
off-list. It's unexpected and annoying that SM overrules an explicit
Reply-To: address and forces delivery to the From: address.
I'd like the old behavior back. Can I choose that in about:config or
some obscure pref? Or do I need to file a bug?
Thanks.
I believe this is bug #1392371 against Thunderbird's component Message
Compose Window. Since SeaMonkey uses the same (or approximately the
same) code as Thunderbird, this is likely also seen in SeaMonkey. A fix
in Thunderbird is already available, but I have no idea when it will be
included in SeaMonkey.
See <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1392371>.
I would think it should be fixed in SM 2.49.1 based on Comment 19.

Maybe the fix will make it into SM 2.49.2
