What you found might have been true some time ago. However, I have not
seen this since I started using ClipGrab last October.

I looked at what Wikipedia said about this, that there were two
versions. The adware version was obtained through the primary, green
download button; and the non-adware version was obtained through the
link lower on the Web page. I just downloaded ClipGrab 3.8.0 from both
links, and the two have the same SHA1 hash. Furthermore, Wikipedia has
a reference to OpenCandy as the adware culprit. However, searches of my
Windows registry, my file system, and the install logs that I generated
when installing and updating ClipGrab show NONE of the items associated
with OpenCandy.

Finally, before I install or update any software, I scan the installer
with AVG Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes, and Microsoft Security Essentials,
all of which I keep current. Wikipedia indicated that OpenCandy is
"classified as malware by many anti-virus vendors." None of those three
scans indicated any virus or other malware in ClipGrab. The Wikipedia
article on OpenCandy lists a number of applications that cause OpenCandy
to be installed, but ClipGrab is NOT on that list.

Trump again proves he is a major source of fake news. He wants
to cut off disaster funds to repair the damage caused by the
Woolsey Fire in southern California because he claims the state
fails to manage its forests properly. The Woolsey Fire was NOT
a forest fire. Starting in an industrial tract, it did not burn
through any forests.

See <http://www.rossde.com/fire.html>.
