Every morning, I get an email from the USPS about the mail I will be receiving today (Informed Delivery Daily Digest).  Today, something unusual has happened. I have Seamonkey 2.49.5 set to check mail every minute so every minute, I get a copy of the very same email downloaded.  Since 7:30 am this morning. I have turned off the setting to check for mail every minute so, for now, they have stopped. Unfortunately, if I use 'Get Msgs' to this account, I will again get the same message.

Is this a problem at my ISP (Xfinity), Seamonkey, USPS, or somewhere else?
More importantly, what can be done to correct this?

POP3 or IMAP?
Is sounds like you have "leave messages on server" checked.
If IMAP it may resend every time the server is queried until you delete it.

I have "leave messages on server" checked, deleting them after 90 days or when I explicitly delete them in Seamonkey. This allows me to access my mails from multiple machines. I have *never* had such a case as described here where mail(s) were being delivered repeatedly.

This applies to POP3, my only IMAP account is with Google and different rules apply. I'll admit to having had problems deleting IMAP mails, they tend to reappear in "All Mail" and I have had problems working out how to drive a stake through their hearts - all those mails recommending Google+ content.
