                Hi,

Don't laugh: I have a shortcut to ebase on my desktop. In
various
folders, for reasons I won't go into, I have copies of
ebase. I have just
entered a bunch of names into ebase, using the desktop
shortcut. How do I
tell which copy of ebase in which folder I have entered the
data? I
thought under "properties" they would say when last
modified, but they
don't. I would like to get rid of all but the updated one,
and make one
copy to keep, so I have two current ones on this computer,
in case one gets
shut down while open(since this has happened to me before).

Next question: What is the best way, in your opinion, to
back up the set
of ebase files in a location off of this hard drive? Should
I buy a zip, a
CD burner? I also have a G3 Powerbook. Can I download
ebase onto the G3
and then email my files from this PC to the Mac? No one
else in our
organization currently has the database. Can I just send
certain files to
another Board member weekly to store on his computer and
send them back to
me if I lose mine? Does that person need to download ebase
for this to
work? Do I have to back up the entire ebase file set, or
can I just back
up certain files, like the "names" file, and reconstruct
with a new
download of ebase if my computer crashes?

                Thanks,

                Sally
