It bears repeating: Never ever have more than one identical copy of any
ebase file (or any FileMaker file for that matter) on your computer!
The workaround for dealing with this, as Bob suggested, is to disguise the
files so that FileMaker doesn't recognize them. He mentions compressing them
into a Zip archive (or Stuffit on the Mac). Another method I use is to
rename the extensions. I change all the .102 extensions to .X02 for the
ebase directory. If I ever need the files, it's easy to rename them back.
