Yes you can.  And it's a lot easier if you get Pkzip or Winzip, which can 
compress the entire set into a single big file--which is still lots smaller 
than the total Ebase set.  I have 200 or so members, with three years of 
data, and can still zip the file set down into something that will (just) 
fit on a floppy.

A really useful thing to do would be to either email the file to somebody 
at home, or get a free web/email account online somewhere.  They give you 
enough file space that you could keep an offsite backup in 
cyberspace.  Great insurance against fire, burglary, or other disaster.
