Ted,
This is possible to do. The computers should all have FileMaker Pro, whether
hosting ebase or accessing it across the network, and each copy of FileMaker
Pro should have network preferences set to TCP/IP.
A word of caution, however. We've seen quite a few small installations like
this that experienced network problems, resulting in a crash of the
database. It's not ebase, and in many cases it's not even FileMaker. But
regardless of the blame, the database is hosed. So unless this group is
religious about frequent backups, I'd recommend serving ebase data with
FileMaker Pro Server. It's more expensive (and they can get it donated from
FileMaker), but in the long run far less expensive than the value of lost
data.
