In theory, Macs and PCs can run Filemaker together with no problems.  Lots
of people use iMacs as hosts.  Some things to watch out for:

- The mac should be used for nothing else and filemaker should be the
foreground application.  Filemaker, or anything else,  as a background
application on a Mac is very slow.

- If it's an old mac, it might also be slow.  Regular Filemaker is
single-tasking.  For example, if a 'guest' is doing a long find, other
guests can't do anything until this process is finished.  Filemaker Server,
on the other hand, is multi-tasking.  Guests can do stuff concurrently.
