I frequently take a copy of our PC ebase database home to work on my Mac
machine and have NEVER had any trouble opening and using them on either
computer. I've always done this as a full copy - not archived - and it
works fine. One of my database backup strategies is to always have a
recent un-archived copy on a zip disk, and it's the easiest for me to
move to my home computer, so that's why I've done this. Don't know if
there could be something going on in the archive/unarchive process, but
give it a try with uncompressed files.
