I think in the situation you are describing you need to make a second request. After selecting your first set of criteria (lapsed members), go to the menu bar and select the Requests menu >Add New Request. Your status area should now show 2 under Requests:. Select the donor type you want to omit and click Omit. I think that will do it for you.
