Hi Ted-

You can't get FileMaker Server donated because you must own a single copy
of FM software in order to receive a donation of that software. When I
patiently explained (several times and ways) that if one owned a copy of
FileMaker Server, then one wouldn't need a copy of FileMaker Server, they
simply repeated the same sentence over and over. It's hopeless.

We bought a copy at the non-profit discount for $470. [Hint: you can only
get the non-profit discount if you buy 10 items or more from FileMaker. We
initially bought 9 user licenses and the Server. When our donation for 20
user licenses came in, we got the 9 user licenses refunded, but kept the
Server at the discounted rate. It was an honest mistake, however, since we
thought we weren't getting the donation.]

Maybe several non-profits should form a "network" and jointly buy one
FileMaker Server, and then request more copies for others in the
network. Has anyone tried/considered this? How shady is this?
