A bit more information would be helpful... but, you shouldn't have duplicate people if you went through the ebase file import (Admin tab 2nd screen) process. It lets you delete dups right there. If you're looking for dups after you've already imported a new list, then run ebase's find duplicates (also in Admin tab 2nd screen). You'll need to log-in with your master password to get into all the above functions.
