You will most likely run out of disk space before you run out of number of
entries, 2G. There are people with FileMaker files with millions of entries,
some eBase users may have as many as 100,000, perhaps more. There are some
processes that you might run in eBase whose time of execution goes up
significantly if you have very large numbers. We have 20,000+ and searches
on unindexed fields are a bit tedious. You quickly learn which things are
slow and don't do them if not necessary, e.g. the expire date field is
computed, not indexed but there are fast find fields (which are slow to
update - but make finding fast if you need to do them multiple times.)
All of the different import possibilities work about the same - no
preference.
