Hello Pree,
I can suggest an easier way to open FileMaker Pro and load Ebase at the
same time. This eliminates the requirement of selecting a previously
opened file from the bottom of the FILE menu and accidentally selecting the
RECOVER function.
Create a program short cut for FileMaker Pro. This is done by finding the
FileMaker.EXE shortcut located on your Windows Program Menu (Start Menu).
Once you locate this shortcut, right click on it and select copy. This
places a copy of the short cut in the Windows Clipboard.
You can then copy it to your Desktop by right clicking on a blank area of
the desktop and select PASTE.
You should see the 'New' FileMaker Pro short cut.
Now you must edit the short cut, to do this right click on the new shortcut
and select 'Properties' from the popup menu that is displayed. You must
edit the 'Target' entry of the short cut as follows:
"C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 5\FileMaker Pro.exe"
"C:\FileMaker5\ebase\ebase.100"
, where the first entry in double quotes points to the location of your
FileMaker Pro executable file and the second entry in double quotes points
to your ebase database file.
** Please note that your file locations will differ from this example and
that you should ensure that you are pointing to the correct ebase filename
(i.e.: ebase.100, ebase.102, or ebase.103.).
This should simplify your access to ebase through FileMaker Pro.

Subject: [support] Turning Off The Recover Button
As we all know the route to open ebase is quite long
and easy to mess up. I was asked if I could make the
route simpler. This is what I did.
I made a Shortcut to FileMaker Pro on the ebase
computer's desktop
When one opens FileMaker Pro you get a dialog box
asking what you want to do. Press "Cancel".
Then click "File" on the tool bar
(You can have FileMaker Pro store the last five files
you used show up at the bottom by going to
"Edit>Preferences>General)
Select ebase.10x
Then enter your password.
The only problem is it is too easy to accidentally
select "Recover" option. Is there a way to turn off
the "Recover" option?
Also is this an okay way to open ebase? Or am I
messing it up?
