>Is there any place in Ebase that shows the date a new record was added?

The date a new names record is added is recorded in a field named Add
Date in the names_.103 file. A similar field, also named Add Date, is
located in the paymnts_.103 file to record the date a payment record
is added.

>And,
>if so, does this date change if you make changes to an existing record?

These fields do not change when a record is changed. There is a
function in FileMaker by which a field could be created to record the
revision date, but it wouldn't be very useful. The script by which
the Fast Find Fields are updated (which good practice says should be
run frequently) revises records and would trigger a change in this
date.

There is a field in the names file called Contact Info Edit Date
which records the date that contact info (name address, phone, email)
is revised.

Neither the Add Date fields nor the revision date field appear on a
layout. To make them accessible you could put them on a layout in a
location convenient for you.
