Actually, I did this: I found all payments from 1/1/01...9/30/01 in the Payments Entry screen.
Then, I made a new summary layout and included a new summary field (Total Payments) The Break field was NameLine then I sorted by Total Payments and by NameLine which gave me a running list of Names, each payment in that period, the total for each name in the found period ascending. >From that point I just looked at the end of the list to see if any totals were $1,000 >or more. Took some thought but seemed pretty easy after contemplating it for a half hour... Thanks for the input.... I almost went to Excel too, but love it when I can figure a way in FileMaker! -otis > sorry I forgot we are currently only handling contributions, so these > kinds of queries are a cinch! > > wash my keyboard with soap, but if all else fails, export the necessary > data to a spreadsheet, where further analysis would be much easier (for > me at least) than calculated keys and sum() > > alternatively, you could temporarily populate a Custom Field with the > Date of Last Donation (a replace), and do a simple Find using the two > fields (now identical data under the same relationships I think) but > find for 2000 in one field and 2001 in the other field > > Dave Shaw wrote: > > >> Although... > >> How can I use that field (or set up a new one) to tell me who gave > >> $1000 or more from 1/1/01-9/30/01.
