Single-user meaning only one of the three of you has the file set open at a time? Does either of the other two machines have ebase open? >Ebase has been customized with Filemaker Pro. > >I do have a shortcut from the desktop that I use to launch ebase. When it >opened as read-only this afternoon, I closed the program and tried opening >again via Filemaker - File - Open. Still no luck. That's the first thing I would have tried. That's why I asked if you had a shortcut, to be sure you were getting to the right file. >There is no CD involved, and I already checked to confirm that I wasn't >inadvertantly trying to open my backup files. What has changed since you successfully ran ebase? (If your first thought is "Nothing", stop and keep thinking. Somthing has changed, and the task is to find it.) Is the remote disk where ebase lives locked? Did one of your co-workers have ebase open and crashed it? Try copying the ebase file set to your local C drive and launching from there. Is there a copy of FileMaker on the disk where the ebase file set lives? If so, try launching from there. Try from the other machines also. Does the problem follow the files, or the machine? -- -- Dave Shaw H4 Consulting tel: 206-954-7526 fax: 206-625-1338 ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
