Yes, you can do this two ways. But, you have to have the right names and addresses (and ideally the unique record number, either from ebase OR from when the names were originally imported) associated with the data you want to import. This latter is needed to make sure the import data lines up properly with the existing ebase data.
If you have the names, addresses and/or record numbers, you can use either the ebase or filemaker routines to import and update existing records. If you're unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, use only the ebase routine, study the ebase manual (Admin) CAREFULLY, and make a backup before trying it out. You will notice that the ebase import routine has a fairly sophisticated routine for checking for duplicates between the import file and the existing ebase database and for updating the existing records (by only adding the new data, overwriting all the data, etc.) Be careful checking for dupes and spot check the data through the import routine to make sure the dupes are properly identified. Again, be careful and read the manuals. Carl "H. Glenn Williams" wrote: > > We want to import files that contain data fields for items appearing on the > Activist/Volunteer and Bio input tabs.
