Title: Reasons for zeroed dues memberships - help
Hi Jill,

I think "ACCT ENTITY" on the payment entry screen is meant for this purpose, so you could use that field unless you are using it for something else. That will make it easy to identify people who gave to c3 and people who gave to c4. It is a little less obvious how to breakout people who gave to c3 and not c4 or only people who gave to both.

If you need to separate the people by both c3 & c4 and only c3 or c4, I think you could use one of the User Fields or a custom field to store this at the person level (but I would still keep the information about each payment). 1) Do a find where account entity = c3, then transfer to names and enter "c3" in your new field. Use replace to make that the value for your entire found set. 2) Then do a find where account entity = c4, and transfer to names. Then revise your find to omit where "c3" is in your new field. Enter "c4" for that found set. 3) Then do a find where account entity = c4, and transfer to names. Then revise your find to find where "c3" is in your new field. Enter "c3, c4" for that found set. You can either repeat this process whenever you are going to do a mailing split that way.

Are you using source codes for all your solicitations? If so, you may be able to use them to help you identify which gifts are c3 and which are c4.

Subject: [support] c3/c4 question

Hello,

I need to find a way to mark in the database whether the individual belongs to our c3, our c4, or both. And then I need to be able to pull them out for a mailing based on their designation. Do I need to create a new field for this or is there an existing way? And, do I need to go thru all 3,000 names individually to mark this? Thank you!!!
