I have two SSH clients that will not connect to PfSense, one requires a change to the config software, and the other SSH client doesnt connect at all.

Can someone tell me how I can change PfSense SSH config so that it works for normal password authentication?  The one SSH client I use from my cellphone only allows password authentication (there is no setting for keyboard interactive), and it would be nice to be able to login to Pfsense from my phone to take a peek of what is going on.

Is there a reason why  password authentication isnt the default in Pfsense?
