David,

You have to understand that this project is a labor of love and since everyone is doing this as a volunteer basis, adding features that aren't interesting, that up until now, nobody has asked for, especially when they're working very hard to get 1.0 released is pretty unrewarding.  It's pretty unreasonable to make a request like this and expect the core developers (like Billm) to drop everything and work on it.  Especially when, as has been pointed out, its not an interesting feature.
