Hi Team,
Am running RC1 full install. Reran the traffic shaping wizard after
updating and set http to lowest priority to see if that would make a
difference.
But still when anyone is downloading (even a single http download, or
running an apt-get update on one of my linux boxes) the rest of the
network slows to a crawl... even just trying to load a website doesn't work.
When pinging the pfsense box from another pc timeouts start hitting
1000-2000ms.
When ssh'ing into pfsense and running 'top' from a console there doesn't
seem to be anything doing anything over 5% cpu usage.
Is it the old specs of the pc? or something else? Has anyone experienced
this with a better spec'd pc?
I'm running on an IBM 300pl, 400mhz processor, about 384 ram.
If there is anything I can do to help/test etc please let me know :)
Kind Regards, and thanks again for the work you have all put in!
First, make sure you are on the latest version by running cvs_sync.sh
releng_1 from a shell.
Next , while these problems are taking place, surf into Status ->
Queues. Pay attention to the drops. Then visit the forum and look
at the traffic shaper tips and tricks thread.
