yes, I guess how equator truncation will modify the horizontal perception...

But, focusing on the "practical" issue of my question:

We usually cannot find the way to sit 30 people on a concert hall (or many
rooms) with a ring of speakers at -45º. Usually zero elevation is about 1-1.5
meters over the floor (when you sit on a chair or so...).

So how can we work with full 3D ambisonics without truncating an ambisonic
speaker layout at a normal concert room situation?

Maybe too general and applied questions... thank you very much for your
replies!

For full 3D 3rd order, one of the best setups is 1 + 6 + 8 + 6 + 1,

I repeat my question, now on this list:

Isn't 2nd (vertical) order enough for this configuration, in both cases?
(full-spherical/half-spherical
)

I have to ask, because according to me, 2nd vertical order should be
adequate for a HOA format which would be decoded to 22.2 speaker layout.
 (-15º, 0º, 35º and 90º elevation levels. I know that this is not a
regular layout, but this would be the next issue needing some
clarification...    :-) )

Thanks,

Stefan
