Due to a lightning I had to buy a new modem. This time I took some time to
find a modem from which i had the impression that it could run under DOS.
On the box it said under system requirements, DOS 6.0 or higher.Much to my
chagrin I overlooked the addition "with Windows 3.1, 95, 98 NT4.0"
I also overlooked the mentioning "Internal Software Modem".
Is there any hope to have the thing to run under DOS. From the past
discusions which I only followed with half an ear I think it is hopeless.
As a matter of fact, the modem is not recognised by e.g. Modemdoctor or any
other diag program.
It is a ISA card, and says it has optional 16- bit I?O address decode. Does
that help?
DOC's??? Oh, you mean the stuff you wipe up coffee with?
