Ouch.  Another Win - er, "lose" - modem.

If in fact the modem card has jumpers or switches
for 16-bit address decoding, then you can manually
set it for the desired comm port (I suggest you do
that even if you're using it with whine-doze.)

Keep us posted on how that turns out.
