These were very commonly found in XT's

Look again, I printed out the ST-225 spec sheet a few monthes ago, I think.
I have 2 of these drives.

Does Fdisk see it?

For a 486 you would need all the specs for the drive....so you could put
them into the cmos setup.  I think that would work.....I have never tried
putting an MFM drive in a 486.
