Sounds like VLB.  I called it a slide because I didn't know what I should
call it.  Edge connector sounds right.

The usual color of a circuit board, nothing unusual, brown plastic, green
coating, copper and solder, multicolored bits and wires.

Those are for the slots attached to the motherboard, not the card, and I
don't HAVE a motherboard that fits this card, never did, never seen such a
beast.
